Membership is open to anyone who resides or works in Kankakee, Ford, Iroquois, or Will County in Illinois. If you don't meet any of these qualifications, you are still eligible to join if you are a family member of a current CommonWealth Credit Union member or if you work at any one of our Select Employee Groups. As a member of CWCU, we offer several loan protection services such as, credit life, credit disability, AutoCare (extended warranty), and GAP insurance.

$1,000 Accidental Death and Dismemberment Policy included with membership, with the option to purchase additional coverage.

It is easy to become a member of CWCU! You must complete a membership agreement application, have a valid form of identification, and a minimum deposit of $25.00 (one share). Applications are subject to review by our Membership Committee.

What this means for you: When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, a valid driver's license or state identification card, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see other identifying documents.
